Camp Movie Review

WORD FILMS RELEASED “CAMP” ON DVD
AUGUST 27, 2013
Word Films announces the August 27 nationwide DVD released of the inspirational film “CAMP.” Inspired by true stories from camps for abused and neglected children, the film’s writer and director, Jacob Roebuck, tapped into real-life events to acknowledge the power of the camp experience and the opportunity it provides to give unconditional love to those seemingly forgotten children who need adults in their lives.

“CAMP” is the story of a deeply troubled boy, Eli (Miles Elliot, “The Mentalist”), and an apathetic investment advisor, Ken (Michael Mattera), who get paired together at a summer camp for foster kids and discover the meaning of unconditional love. “We are excited for the opportunity to share the story of CAMP,” said Roebuck. “We want to entertain audiences, but we also hope they are inspired to get involved in the lives of abused and neglected kids in their communities. We are thrilled to work with Word on the video distribution of the picture. Not only do they bring a first-class distribution team for mainstream and Christian markets, they also understand the heart behind the film.”

While the kids were at school, the other day I thought why not take a little break from everything and watch a movie. When I started to watch Camp, I did not know that I would be hit with so many different emotions and be touched by simply watching this movie. Camp is truly a touching and inspiring movie.  You heart will really go out to the young boy Eli as he is an abused kid. This is such a sad but true thing that happens daily and it is so horrible. Then while he is at camp you will see, how the counselors are there for him well most of them. However, there is the character Ken, whom is just being a counselor to make a business deal, which I think is horrible.

I love that within the movie you can see how ones heart opens to help others. This movie offers so many different emotions from heartbreaks, struggles, strength and more. This would be a great movie for a youth group to watch and take learn values from.
