About Bash and the Pirate Pig
Bash and the Pirate Pig, by Burton Cole, is the story of a cranky city kid named Raymond "Beamer" Boxby who must spend summer vacation at his younger cousin, Bash's, farm.
Beamer prefers air conditioning and video games. He can't see what good can come of this so-called country fun that includes riding cows, river rafting with a pig, or playing with skunks.
But hang tight, Beamer, because Bash's zany adventures with his "Fishin' and Farmin' book" (The Bible) just might lead to the coolest discovery of all.

My little was so excited to start reading her new book 'Bash and the Pirate Pig'. Within a week, she had the whole book read which offers 208 pages. She loves chapter books and this one was the perfect chapter book for her. I love the hardback cover, which allows the book to stay intact much longer and look newer for longer. I personally am just a huge fan of hardback covers.
She loved the storyline; I think it offers a storyline that connects with a lot of kid’s nowadays. I love that throughout the storyline it shares how Beamer would much rather play with video games instead of playing outside. This is an issue that I tend to have with my kids. I personally think it has helped with letting my little girl know why it is so important to play outside and to use her imagination. It has also taught her that video games are not the only important thing.
I love what my daughter has brought from reading this book. I feel that is has instilled some nice thoughts about playing outside vs. video games.
