Dutch Country Pantry Review/Giveaway

I love to try new things especially when it comes to new drinks and new desserts. You never know when you will come across something that is just amazing and will become one of you new favorite things to enjoy. For my family and I we just had the chance to try something new so new to us that we had never even heard of it before. Dutch Country Pantry Foods offers a huge selection in PA Dutch country foods and drinks that can be delivered right to your door. They were kind enough to send me a few things both of which were completely new to me Shoofly Pie and also Birch Beer.

Kutztown Birch Beer has been made with the same original recipe for the past century. This soft drink is caffeine free and is made with the finest ingredients, including pure cane sugar. Birch beer has a smooth, rich texture with an old fashioned flavor.

Hubby offered right out of the box to be the tester for the Birch Beer. With it being home made root beer he knew he was going to love it. He is a huge fan of root beet already so he is always looking for new ones to try. He said it offers a great taste and also aftertaste plus it is smooth. He did say it is much better cold then warm but I think that is with all drinks.

This is the real, authentic old fashioned, wet-bottom shoofly pie, homemade in Bird-in-Hand. This 9" pie gives about seven servings of this traditional Pennsylvania Dutch dessert with a gooey bottom, cake-like middle and crumb topping. For those of us who have that irresistible sweet tooth, Wet-Bottom Shoofly Pie is a "must have".

The Shoofly Pie is something I am sure many of you including myself has never even heard of before. It is a simple pie yet extremely tasty made with molasses. The pie offers wet and gooey yumminess on the bottom and a dry topping of sugary crumble. I have never until now ever heard or tried this kind of pie. With my family the pie did not last long at all.

My family and I have really enjoyed the pie and it made for a great dessert after dinner. My kids aren't much into pies but they ate their pieces right up and really enjoyed it. Of course, after the kids went to bed hubby and I finished the pie with tall glasses of milk. This is by far one of the best pies I have ever had. It is nice to know that I don't have to go through the trouble to make a pie. I can simply order it and have it delivered right to my door to enjoy.
