The Spice Lab Gourmet Salt Collection Review/Giveaway 'Mother's Day Gift Guide'

I don't know about you but my hubby loves to spice up his food. I like a little spice but not a whole lot. But we both can agree on one thing, we love to have flavorful food. One thing that can help your food go to the next level in taste is salt. I am not talking about the traditional table salt. I am talking about salt that adds flavor and spice to your dish. The Spice Lab was kind enough to send my hubby and I The Chili Head Salt Collection that not only looks really nice in the kitchen, but also adds a touch of spice and flavor to our dishes.

The Spice Lab offers several things that you can use to flavor up any dish. They offer salts, spices, peppers and more.

I have always loved to cook but it has been really hard to find the time to be able to make the dinners that I love to make for my family. But let me tell you when I find the time to cook I go all out. Homemade all the way. Plus, with Pinterest, I never know what new recipe I am going to find and  try. When I received The Spice Lab Gourmet Salt Collection, I was ready to cook because I could not wait to see how these salts tasted on different foods. During my review, The Chili Head Salt Collection 4 Tubes ($29.95) which included: Jalapeno Pepper, Smoked Serrano Pepper, Habanero Pepper, and the Szechuan Pepper . Of course, these really are not the kind of salts that my kids are going to like but hubby and myself were really wanting to try them. So, I used it in our foods and left it out of the kid's.
I know you may be thinking that salt is bad for you, if you consume too much of it. Yes, that is true, the heat of the peppers really make it easy to enjoy this salt in healthy moderation. Everything tastes better with salt. Each salt I was sent had a unique smell and taste. My favorite salt was the Smoked Serrano Pepper. It has such a great taste and offers a smokey flavor to go with each bit. All of the other flavors were very tasty as well and each offered its own unique flavor and smell to the dishes. The Jalapeno actually tastes of jalapeno and the habanero is HOT.

I do really like how the salt set came with a reference card that let you know what salts go with what dishes. There is a very exquisite wooden spoon for serving and the glass test tube style containers have real corks in them. The set is really top notch and will add sophistication to a kitchen. If you enjoy salt, adding flavors to your meals, spicing things up without hot sauce, or trying new things, I would say you have to try these salts. I assure you will be very happy you did.
