Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure Review

Who can forget Bill and Ted? Their “excellent adventure” took the late 80’s/ early 90’s by storm. The film was way ahead of its comedic “self” at the time of its release. It was met with very mixed opinions, found its niche, and had no problem picking up a large group of followers.

Keanu Reeves (The Matrix) and Alex Winter (The Lost Boys) star in this outrageous comedy about two ditzy dudes from San Dimas, California. Bill (Winter) and Ted (Reeves) spent so much time forming their rock band, The Wyld Stallyns, that they're flunking history. A guardian angel from the future, Rufus (Carlin) come to them with a bodacious solution: a time traveling phone booth to take them into the past to learn from history's most influential people. Their journey turns out to be a blast...but will they learn enough to pass their class?

This was an early movie for Keanu Reeves and it shows. You’ll get a blast watching him without the “serious” that now accompanies all of his major roles in film. Alex Winter’s career has not been as much of a road to glory as Keanu’s has, but he does an “excellent” job with his role in this film.

The late, great, George Carlin bows in, and shares his acting, and above all, comedy chops, many different people who saw this film will always remember him being a part of it. Time traveling phone booths might not be as cool of a concept as they once were, but they are still every-bit as “bodacious”.

The historical figures represented throughout the movie set up many moments of laughter. They are relics of what once was. This movie is the same. The newly released Blu-ray will surely bring new viewers to the movie, but will be cherished most by those who remember when this movie was new.

Where to purchase: You are able to purchase Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure [Blu-ray] from Amazon and local retailers for $14.99.
