ZeroWater Pitcher Review

Drinking water is an important, yet sometimes overlooked need that we all share. Most people probably don’t drink enough water. There will be many reasons why people don’t drink enough water, and those reasons will vary from person to person. For my family, we don’t drink enough water, and the reason is that our city water tastes like it was tapped straight from the bottom of a muddy pond!

There are a lot of filtration systems that you can choose from on the market today, and most will give you the same things. Relatively small apparatus that filters quickly and leaves your water largely unchanged. I find that most of these products work for only a small amount of time before needing their filters replaced. I had tried a couple of different filter systems and decided to give up and just pay for bottled water, even though I already pay a water bill each month.

On the ZeroWater site you are able to look up the TDS reading for your area, by simply typing in your zip code. I am sure you are wondering, what is TDS? TDS stands for total dissolved solids. Here is what TDS can do to your water. It can leave an undesirable taste to your tap water. TDS comes from man made sources and natural deposits. Another fact that I was not aware of is that the FDA requires a certain reading level for Purified Bottled Water. The requirement of the TDS reading in the Purified Bottled Water is 000-010.

I was selected to do a review on the ZeroWater filtration system, and now my mind has changed. The ZD-013 was the model I was sent and I tried it out immediately after it arrived. There were a few things that I liked about this product right away. It comes with an electronic meter that measures the dissolved solids in your water, you know, the little nastys that make your water taste yucky. Depending on your water’s reading, there is also a chart that shows you how much solids are in your water if they weren’t dissolved. This freaked me out, I mean, I knew that our city water was far from pure, but I had no idea what I was actually putting in my body this whole time.
The size of the ZD-013 is adequate for what it does and what it holds (roughly1/2 gallon). The filter is large but it filters a lot of water before it needs replaced. The amount of usage you will get will depend on your water’s solid content. Ours is a 375 (that is very high) and we got close to 20 gallons before the first filter needed replaced. The filtration time is a little slow, but that is because it is removing every contaminant in the water. The water you are left with is PURE, zero solid content water.
We use this thing all of the time. The kids don’t mind drinking zero water, and I think it tastes better than our store-bought brand. This has blown away all of my past experiences with filter systems. The thing I like most is it shows what your water looked like before and after filtration, something you won’t get with other filtration systems.
