Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler Review/Giveaway

With the weather so nice out I have been motivated to "spring" into Spring Cleaning, and I mean a lot of it. I am finding so much stuff that I can recycle, donate, and even sell. It is really important to me to do these things instead of just throwing things away. The landfills are full enough as it is. Recycling is a duty that our family actively participates in, but it can tend to be a little inconvenient. Separating your trash requires more space. You get boxes here, pop cans there, and plastic bottles here and there. The piles can add up to the point of just looking cluttered, no matter how "green" or good your intentions are. When Rubbermaid offered to send me the Hidden Recycler I was very excited. Having a practical solution to manage the extra clutter that recycling can incur is very nice.

The Hidden Recycler priced at $17.59, attaches to the inside of a cabinet door to collect recyclables out of sight and keeps your counters clear. The bag is durable, machine washable, and made of recycled material. Collect your recyclables and then easily lift the bag from the lid and cabinet by the handle to take them out to your recycle bin.
  • Hinged lid attaches to cabinet door with over the door hooks or screws
  • Bag is made from 65% post-consumer resin
  • Bag is machine washable
  • Comfortable handle for transport
  • 5 gallon bag holds 36 uncrushed cans and is large enough to fit 1 gallon milk jugs
  • Great for single stream recyclers
  • Great for apartment living

When I received my package I opened it immediately and couldn't wait to use it. There is a little bit of assembly required, but nothing it is nothing complicated,no tools are required, and it only takes a few minutes. There are a total of five pieces: 2 hooks for the door, the cloth recycler, and the lid and handle. You put the 2 hooks onto the lid and attach to your door. After that, you put the handle rim and the recycler together. You are able to secure the recycler to the rim which is nice as you don't have to worry about it coming loose and falling while in the cabinet. After this you then attach the lid and the rim/handle together.

I am really surprised at how durable each piece is. You don't have to worry about the plastic snapping or the cloth recycler getting any holes. Also, it is very attractive, and adds a little flare to wherever you decide to use it. The ease of assembly makes the Hidden Recycler a very convenient item. The attached handle is really nice and allows for the transfer and emptying process to be simple and smooth one. I have found this to be really nice if I am going into town, I can just take the Hidden Recycler with me and empty it while I am out.

This inside is very easy to clean, messes wipe away with ease. Everything about the Hidden Recycler tings of convenience and I can see myself continuing to use it a very long time.
