OOgave Natural Soda Review/Giveaway

As a family that loves to try new drinks, we are always looking for more healthy alternatives for our family. We have tried several things, some of which were more mess then a yum. Plus, it can get pretty hard to find something that our kids can enjoy just as much as we can. When Oogave offered to send me a bottle of each flavor my hubby and I were thrilled. Let me say we were not disappointed in any way with the flavors and the quality of the ingredients used.

About the company: The idea for Oogavé organic sodas first came to Esteban Anson while running his small natural foods restaurant in downtown Denver. Esteban was already a huge fan of agave nectar. He loved using it in recipes because it was delicious, all natural, easy-to-mix, and was much healthier than the traditional commercial alternatives. Esteban thought this wonder nectar just might make a delicious and healthier soda. After many months of intense research, wild mixology, and copious tastings with friends and family. Esteban knew he was onto something, and on April 13th, 2005 he began serving Oogavé sodas in his restaurant. With the help of two close friends and the Small Business Administration, Esteban built his own little soda plant right in Denver, Colorado. The operation was certified Kosher and Organic by Scroll K and the Colorado Department of Agriculture. Today, Oogavé is available in natural grocery stores and thoughtful restaurants in 47 states.
There are several different flavors available to enjoy: Cola, Root Beer, Mandarin Key-Lime, Ginger Ale, Watermelon Cream, Grapefruit, Vanilla Cream, and Strawberry Rhubarb. All of these which I had the chance to review exceeded my expectations in flavor.

I am very impressed that Oogave is a certified organic soda that uses ONLY agave nectar as a sweetener.  No high fructose corn syrup, cane sugar or chemical sweeteners added.  They are gluten-free, vegan, low glycemic, caffeine free and each bottle contains only 100 calories.  Which is very important to me and several other people I know.
During our review we were sent eight different bottles, all of them were different flavors. This allowed us to be able to taste a variety of flavors and really have more of a knowledgeable opinion of the OOgave' Natural Sodas. I personally loved the bottles, the fact that they were glass and not plastic is actually something that is important to me and the environment. Then you get to the really interesting cool design of the name on the bottle, I really liked that. It was really thought out. Also, you shouldn't have to use a bottle cap opener, as I found that the caps twisted off with little difficulty. If you think that having a more environmentally friendly metal lid will sacrifice ease of opening or re-seal-ability, you would be right in most cases. However, with the OOgave' bottles they have somehow pulled off having a metal cap that not only comes off easily, but also twists back on and will not leak, even when turned upside down. I have to mention that the cap and label have the OO with the spiky hair on them, just a extra added design that I really like.

The flavors are very yummy, I can't help but want to drink the whole bottle in one shot. The problem with that is I only had one bottle of each flavor. I am also a big fan of the fact that there is no bad after taste left in your mouth. Which is the effect that some alternatively flavored drinks offer, and I just don't like. I was actually impressed that my kids enjoyed the drinks just as much as my hubby and I. This is important to us, having the whole family enjoy drinks, especially drinks that are good for you. These drinks are highly carbonated, awesome. I would have to say that these drinks offer a really refreshing taste and wouldn't mind getting some more.

Where to purchase: You are able to purchase from the Oogave website. You are also able to go here and find what retailers you can find Oogave at to purchase.
