Where are you from and a little about yourself ~ I was born and raised in a little town in Northern California. I was married at the delicate age of 20 had 4 children and was widowed after 10 years. God blessed me with a new husband (my secret high school crush!) and a step son the same age as my oldest boy. We lived in NJ for 10 years, added another child to the fold and now we are back in California. My oldest daughter made me a grandmother at the delicate age of 40, so I have a 3 year old grand daughter that lights up my world. We are down to 2 children in the house, my 14 year old son, Collin (pictured modeling my belts) and my 8 year old daughter, Isabelle (pictured on my Etsy profile)
Do you have a twitter or facebook fan page ~ I have a twitter account but I am not fond of tweeting. www.twitter.com/pontepretties and I have a very active Facebook account www.facebook.com/pontepretties
What do you take as inspiration into your designs ~ I believe that crochet has always gotten a bad rap. Like the "Step-child" of needlearts. Too many burnt orange and brown acrylic granny squares and blue and yellow ripple afghans. I want to change that crochet stigma. I like to show the absolute beauty and elegance of crochet through color selection, textures, embellishments, stitches and I'm very particular with designs. I do not believe in copying patterns or designs, I try to be very unique and original and make something "my own". Whatever is popular in crochet at the moment, you can bet I'm not doing it. It all boils down to beauty and elegance. Because I have 4 boys and 2 girls I always wanted to create something that the boys would like It's hard to make "Masculine" looking crochet, but I take pride in the fact that my boys wear the up-cycled soda can tab belts that I make.
What made you decide your store name ~ In the 30+ years that I have been crocheting a reoccurring word from my admirers is "PRETTY" so when I married my high school crush and acquired the last name Ponte, I thought it had a nice ring to it. "Ponte" is also portuguese for "Bridge" so I like to think that my crocheted creations are "A Bridge to take you to Pretty"
Anything you would like my readers to know about you and your creations~ I wish I could share my bags and mini totes with everybody in person, because they really are more special in person then in a photo. I love each and every one of them that I make and so do my admirers/customers. Little girls age 7 - 16 love them! Perfect for Easter, weddings, gifts and my Teeny totes would make excellent Easter gifts.
There are so many choices to choose from. No matter the color you are wanting you will be able to find it. Also with the different sizes of totes you will find the perfect size for any little girl. I was able to review a hot pink tote with soft black feathery fur and a black and white polka doted flower, also the handles are black. My little girl loved it so much she took to to dance class with her to show it off and all the little girls wanted one so much. This would make a great Easter gift for any girl of ages. They are so soft which I am very happy about. Another great thing the tote that my little girl had the opportunity to review has a Minnie Mouse print on the inside of the tote which I thought was great. Another great thing you will be happy with is the prices. The prices are perfect for such great craftsmanship which is very important to me. With these you will get your money's worth.
You Can Purchase: here at her etsy shop with prices ranging from $3.50 and up.
