FlipFlop Wines Review

Who doesn't want to have a nice evening with the significant other with a nice dinner and a nice bottle of wine to connect. Or in my case after the kids have laid down and fallen fast a sleep get a nice bottle of wine and relax by yourself while watching a nice movie. I had the opportunity to review a couple of bottles of wine from FlipFlop wines and the tastes exceeded my expectations in the tasting of the wines.

A little bit about the company: flipflop wines: to each, their own. With flipflop wines, they have embraced the movement toward individualistic expression, instead of manufacturing wines into some cookie-cutter style that’s all the rage. Their goal is to craft expressive, well-balanced wines that evoke just what the grapes inside intended, without being over-wrought or over-explained, and that can be enjoyed at any occasion.

About David Georges, Vintner: While working at an organic vegetable farm in the Mt. Shasta region of California, David discovered the art of grape growing. After planting a small vineyard on the farm, he was fascinated with wine, from managing the vineyard to tasting the fruits of his labor. Inspired to learn more, David attended the University of California at Davis first to study viticulture, and then added  winemaking coursework as well. David honed his winemaking skills at well-known California wineries including Artesa and Davis Bynum. In 2009, David began working on the wines that would become the inaugural vintage of flipflop. His goal is to stay true to each wine’s varietal character, and to make great tasting wines that don’t break the bank.

Pinot Grigio: Appellation; California. Tastes like light-bodied, refreshing Pinot Grigio with tropical citrus, ripe pear and a zesty, clean finish. It is full of Balanced crisp acidity Eat with Bruschetta, spaghetti carbonara, eggplant parmesan or your favorite tacos. Serve chilled or store away from direct sunlight
Riesling: Appellation; Washington. Tastes like medium-bodied, Riesling with peach, apricot and melon which lead to a satisfying, smooth finish. It is full of Tropical notes and sweet aromas. Eat with Tofu stir-fry, shredded pork tacos and sake sashimi. Serve chilled and store away from direct sunlight.

I have to start off one of my favorite things about these wines is that they came with a informational sheet and you can see all the information online for each wine. I have always wanted to more knowledgeable about wines and I feel with the information provided I am able to gain that. Like what foods pair right with what wines. I have to say eating the rights food with the right wines makes such a difference in the food and wine combination. I loved the taste of both wines I honestly can't say anything bad about the flavors they were truly perfect.

There are several flavors in each white and red wines available and I am sure the others are just amazing. With the value price of $7.00 a bottle, so with a budget nowadays this is a great price for many homes that love to have a nice bottle of wine at dinner.
White wines: Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Moscato
Red wines: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir

They have also partnered with Soles4Souls Inc., the international shoe charity dedicated to providing free footwear to those in need. This program will raise much needed funds to give one pair of flip-flop sandals for each bottle of flipflop wine purchased. This year flipflop wines and Underdog Wine Merchants are partnering with Soles4Soles to help them raise/achieve their goal of 11 million pairs of flip flops in the year of 2011.
