BOB Books Review/Giveaway CLOSED

CLOSED
#113 Christa
I have always been such a huge fan of scholastic books and my kids have tons of them. So, when I had the opportunity to review a set of Bob Books by scholastic I was so excited for my little one. I received the Bob Books set 1 and 2. I am honestly surprised at how well they work with little ones in preschool.

Bob Books set 1 offers such a great beginning. It will capture the hearts of kids just starting to read. They are fun and build confidence right away.

Using only the letters M, A, T and S, kids can read their first book. New letters are added gradually, until zip, zap, zam, by book 12, kids have read books with all letters of the alphabet (except Q).

There are 12 books. 12 pages each. 3-letter words. Consistent sounds. All letters (except Q) introduced gradually in this set. This was a great set to start with. My little boy is 3 and in his first year of pre-school and already knows his ABC's mixed up big and little just by seeing them. This is such a great way to start your little one who is already to go too the next level.

Bob Books set 2 continues the learning and adds a little more. The twelve books in Bob Books Set 2 continue with stories in three and four letter words. Simple text combined with longer stories gives your emergent reader continued success. New drama and surprises keep interest high.

There are 12 books. 16 pages each. Primarily 3-letter words. Consistent sounds and sight words. Longer stories. When leaving the 1st set and starting into the 2nd it was a super easy transaction and he is learning so much.

There is 1-5 sets in the Bob Books and just as leaving set 1 and entering set 2 there will always be a little more to learn in each set. Bob Books Set 2, Set 3, Set 4 and Set 5 build on each other, with enough repetition so reading becomes comfortable and easy, and new material so the child stays interested. Numbering the books and boxes creates a sense of progress and accomplishment. The books themselves are sized perfectly for little hands. Children will love these.

I am so glad I had the opportunity to review these amazing BOB Books. They were the next perfect step for my little boy is at such a great age to just absorb all the things he learns. Plus, he loves to learn so that is a plus. I wish these were around when my little girl was little these would have helped her so much, I mean is 7 and in a 3rd grade reading level now. I really like how each book focuses on a simple little word and throughout the book it keeps with that word and brings in just a few more simple words. It is so funny the first word that we worked with was MAT and now if he sees that word somewhere or I write it down out of the blue, he will says look mom it is mat.  It is just great when you get something like this and your little loves to interact with it and learn and then to see how happy they are because they did a good job. It makes you feel really proud!

  16. SO NEAT! My five year old has been bringing these books home for a couple weeks now,its interesting to read the story how they came to be. especially that The first books were handmade, inspired by two small dolls—one circular and one triangular— she bought at a craft fair.

Let your chlid set the pace. When your child is ready to read, Bob Books is a great place to start.
