I am always on the lookout for fun and interactive ways for my kids to learn. With my kids they love to learn but they also what to be having a blast while doing this. So, I had the opportunity to review Rock N Learn: Money & Making Change DVD. Let me say my kids have had a huge blast with this DVD and learned quit a bit.
I have a 3 and 7 year old so I knew this would be great at least for my 7 year old. To my surprise my little 3 year old learned a lot from this DVD also. I am in shock that my kids both know now what the coins are and what a dollar bill is. Which is great for my 1st grader, but it helped a 3 year old also which is really cool and amazing.
For ages 6 & up. Approx. 57 minutes.
~Penny and Bill know how to shake things up when it comes to counting money and making change. Cool songs and games provide plenty of practice with real-world skills. Learn about coins and how they relate to one another, strategies for counting cash, "skip counting," expressing money in written terms, how to make change, and more. You’ll have lots of fun as you gain valuable skills you can bank on.
Penny and Bill have a problem. With their big concert to play, they must repair a broken speaker. Fortunately, Penny has been saving money in her piggy bank. But just how much does she have?
Penny and Bill learn how to recognize coins, a little about the history of money, why coins and bills are starting to look different, and much more. They learn strategies for sorting coins and cash and use "skip counting" to find out exactly how much money they have.
After lots of counting money, Penny and Bill learn how to make change by pretending to buy funny items at a garage sale. You'll have time to practice counting money and making change right along with them before you hear the answers. Finally, at the big concert that evening, guess who's invited to join Penny, Bill on the front row?~

I am so happy with what my kids have learned from this DVD. My little girl has actually been having trouble with learning the difference between coins and finally she has got it figured out and it is because of Rock N Learn: Money & Making Change DVD. Now when she finds money around the house she is counting it and actually counting the correct amount. Then the fact that my 3 year old knows the difference between coins not how much each of them are but just knowing them is such an amazing thing at his age. I look forward to many more of these DVD's in our home to help the kids in learning.
